April 1, 2020

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

With every passing day of us practicing physical and social distancing, it is my hope that we are one day closer to resuming our regular school routine.

To provide increased quantities of meals and to lessen the need to travel on a daily basis, we are adjusting and expanding our food outreach program. We have added a Wednesday evening food outreach site at Post Road Christian Church and now Lakeside Elementary from 5:30 - 7:00. Wednesday locations will distribute a total of 8 meals. Starting next week, we will be distributing 6 meals on Tuesdays and 8 meals on Fridays at now 11 locations from 11:00 -1:00. Eastridge and Hawthorne will be added as Tuesday / Friday locations.

If you find yourself in need beyond what is being offered, a District Community Outreach hotline and email have been created. You can either call 317-869-4308 or email MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us with your information. Someone from the district will contact you as soon as possible.

When Spring Intersession break ends on April 5th, our schools will continue to be closed under Governor Holcomb’s order until at least May 1st. Our district team continues to work on Learn at Home learning experiences for our PK-8 students and eLearning experiences for our 9-12 students. As part of our plan, we will be offering our families with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade with the opportunity to request a device to support student-teacher interactions and their learn at home activities. K-8 principals will be sharing additional details on the device deployment process later this week.

I would also like to take this time to encourage our families and staff to complete your 2020 Census Questionnaire. The census plays a critical role in federal funding for schools, roads, health care, and other community services.  The next 10 years of funding is based on this year’s census. For more information, please visit 2020census.gov.

Please continue to monitor our website, mobile app, school newsletters, and our social media Twitter and Facebook accounts for updated information. Be safe Warrior Nation.
